The inspiring story of an Exercise for Science study participant

Theresa has completed more than 200 marathons. Having taken part in our Hip Study, her 3T MRI scan shows that her hips are normal and healthy. Here she shares her story.

A very committed runner, Theresa took part in our Hip Study and was inspired to share the video below. In it, she explains how lockdown affected her training, and how she has overcome the challenges.

Theresa says:

“I was really excited to take part in this study because there are some myths around marathon runners developing problems in the hips.

“I’ve never had any problems but was very interested to see the outcome.”

Reasons to run

Theresa is a big advocate of running as a way of life. She says:

“I’ve met so many people through running and some have become lifelong friends. I would urge people to go running. It really can be life changing.”
